OS HPUX 11.31 PA, module files were deleted from installation directory, but module information still present in kernel.

1. To follow the "old" school.

# mkdir /stand/build

# cd /stand/build

# /usr/lbin/sysadm/system_prep -v -s system  (create a system file in current directory based on current kernel )

# vi system  (remove line which contain your driver name)

# cd /stand/current/mod  (now remove all files related to your module, for exampe my_module)

# rm -rf my_module my_module.prep

# kconfig -i /stand/build/system (update current kernel with configuration from system file)

==> Update the automatic 'backup' configuration first? y
NOTE:    The requested changes could not be applied to the currently
running system, for the following reasons:
         – The automatic 'backup' configuration could not be updated.
       * The system file '/stand/build/system' has been imported.  The
changes will take effect at next boot.

# reboot

2. Check all kernel modules now:

# kcmodule -d

If you will not see my_module all works.

Thank you.
